EMILY’S SONG
Alex Clements
CD Review by Pat Benny
Those who are familiar with the piano
compositions of George Winston will appreciate the music of Alex
Clements, in this 2005 recording, "Emily's Song."
However, unlike Winston's musical
depictions of the changing seasons, Alex Clements has drawn his
inspiration for this recording by the people who brighten his
world. The first track, "A Song for Ethan," is about his
firstborn son. The second, "Inspired ..." is a musical
composition which describes perfectly the contents of this CD in
a way that this review cannot accomplish.
Clements plays beautifully; softly
guiding the listener into his world of tranquil contentment.
This is a wonderful recording, perfect for the moments when one
is in the mood for elegant, soothing music, performed by an
master pianist, or just as appropriate as an antidote for the
times when the stress and strain of today's world has gotten the
better of us. The cover photo of his little girl, Emily, opens
the door to the world of Alex Clements, a world of elegant
inspiration. Alex, Ethan and Emily can be found at:
