CD Reviews  Baranga Baranga

Baranga is a Brazilian band that plays truth Rock’ n Roll. If you don't support more to hear bands imitating Metallica, Slipknot or Creed, they can be a good option. The band makes a more sound to the style AC/DC, Status Quo, ZZ Top than the tendencies that are on the top of Billboard. Don't hope to hear from Baranga some cover of Korn or of Linkin' Park. Maybe can be very strange listen a rock’ n roll band who sings in Portuguese, but I think this is just the first impression, cause they play the universal language of Rock Music. The band is great, to begin for great drummer, Paulão, he is an icon of Rock’ n Roll in São Paulo, for your glorious past in bands as Centurias, Firebox, Cheap Tequila and until recently for Harppia.

He continues beating very strong, with your "Cozy Powell" style. The vocalist and guitarist Xande, assiduous visitor of the best guitar luthiers and of the worst bars of São Paulo, it is much more familiarized with the studio and playing and singing very well. The expert guitarist Deca (former - Pitbulls on Crack) has a great technique, that it is inserted perfectly in the proposal of the group, and bass player "Soneca " plays very well too.
The sound is dirty and high, the letters sexists and totally politically incorrect. The cd has great moments as "Tudo o Que Eu Tenho na Vida (Everything That I Have In the Life) " that is pure AC/DC. "Maverick " speaks about the large car that drinks more than the owner, "Mulher de pagodeiro (Pagodeiro’s Wife)" is a blues that makes a " reverence " to the groupies of one of the bloody Brazilian musical styles .
The classic of Centurias "Duas Rodas (Two Wheels) " is recreated in an " AC/DC style". "Meu Time (My Team) " would be perfect for sound-track of the last game of the Brazilian soccer team against Mexico, who watched the worst soccer game of the history it will totally agree with the letter that distils poison in this sport. "Baranga " speaks about the girls who are fantastic in TV and closely it is all fake and she is terrible .
The premiere of " Baranga " is great. The only problem is the collateral effect, since after hearing the CD all you are smelling gasoline, drunk with cheap beer and he/she will probably acquire some venereal disease.
