The OttoBoys
can pump tunes out with no problem at all,
infact I am convinced they could do it with
their eyes closed AND their hands tied behind
their backs, what can I say except HOT HOT
HOT.
These talented musicians will GRAB your heart
and soul, and leave you begging for more...
everyone of their songs are outstanding and
definitely record deal material. Their styles
are diversified from Blues/Rock to Progressive
Blues to Electric Blues.
Vern and Donnie Otto are totally bad to the
bone. If you haven't tasted their music, then
trip on over to their MP3 page at http://www.mp3.com/OttoBoys
and give their tunes a spin and then
purchase the cds, you won't be sorry....The Minneapolis
Rhythm Pipeline is: 'Rick 'Stix'
Larson' - Roland V-Drums, 'Ron
Gilbertson' - Wind Instruments, 'Kevin
Baker' - Keyboards. And Paul "Wooldog"
Lovick set in as additional guitarist on
the tunes 'Ottotoxicity', 'Thrill is
Back' and 'Just a Jam'. And then you add this
lineup to Vern Otto on lead guitar and Donnie
Otto on Bass and Donnie does the vocals on
a some of the tunes which is raspy sounding
and just the sounds I like to hear-extremely
good job, mix all this together and what do
you have? one Dyn-o-mite spectacular group of
musicians doing what they do best, play their
music, write, produce and engineer. They are
one HOT MEAN MACHINE.
Its so difficult to pick a fav when you love
every single tune on this CD, got to share my
outtake tho: 'Ottotoxicity' is an
instrumental with screamin' hard drivin'
guitars as only
the Ottoboys can do. 'Dirty Money' is a
great tune and oh my that harp will send
chivers down your spine. 'It's not (what
you think)' is a blues rock style with a
kick. 'Troubles' is a very good song
with raspy bluesy vocals. 'Sucker Punch'
has hot conga and guitar licks that are
totally endless. Extremely well played and
written song. 'E Blues' is another hot
blues Otto-trumental. 'Too damn Tired' and
'Cuts Me to the Bone' is more than
excellent songs, the vocals are superb coming
from Jared Lee, I found both these
songs spectacularly written, played and sung.
My Ultimate fav is 'Like a River' and
no matter how many times I listen to this one
it fills my heart and soul. 'True Blue' is
a jazzy lil' blues tune that you can really
get into. 'River of Tears' is one of
those sincerely heartfelt songs that will
definitely flood your heart and soul. The axes
cry out on this one. The love for their music
is heard on each and every song with every
note and lick of the instruments coming from
the OttoBoys.
The OttoBoys main lifetime goal is to create
striking and innovative original material! And
I for one can attest that the OttoBoys has
achieved that goal and more.
