No matter how many times I listen to The
Regulators, that same inner feeling for their music rises to the surface. A feeling you never forget or lose.
The Regulators are doing a spectacular job of helping to keep Southern Rock music alive. In my opinion, Southern Rock has what it takes to be the #1 genre in the music industry, and right along with that, The Regulators is definitely the #1 Southern Rock group in Southern California (just to name one state), there are lots of Southern Rock bands around, but
The Regulators are the hardest
workin' Southern Rockers I know of. And their CD 'Above the
Law' shows all the hard work of its members.

And who are those #1 spectacular musicians? Ronnie Farrell - lead vocals/rhythm guitar.....Gary Jefferies - rhythm guitar/vocals.....Johnny Barnes - guitars..... Johnny Travers - guitars.....Randy Smith - guitars/bass/backup vocals.....Chris Turbis - piano/hammond organ.....Chris Radek - drums and lets not forget to mention that spectacular female vocals you hear and those set of vocal chords can only belong to Jessica Tilton.
This CD is packed full of dyn-o-mite material, instruments that just go and go - as if there is no end. And The Regulators music is tighter than tight, their dynamics as an band is totally awesome. You can hear some of those dynamics on:
'Money, Pride and Greed'.....'Eatin'
Crow'.....'My Bags are Packed'.....'Sweet
Sustain'..
I can't end this review without saying something about the tune 'Sweet Sustain', which if you didn't know already - that it was dedicated to Jimi Hughes. I know the impact that musicians have on other musicians, just about all of them come from a tight knit family of musicians.........but this tune brings it all into the light. This song not only touched my heart and soul, it brought tears too. And when this happens to me, as an writer, I know that there is something special in the material, the vocals, the instruments - everything. This song is 150% definitely 'top of the chart' #1 seller. Thanks guys for sharing your feelings and your professional talent with me and the world.
