CD Review   Sonny Moorman Sonny's Blues

Sonny Moorman - 'Sonny's Blues'
by Mary Rudy, http://www.muzikreviewz.com

If you are wanting blues and nothing but the blues - this is certainly the CD for you. Sonny Moorman is blues through and through. His musicianship on the lead guitar is totally HOT and BAD TO THE BONE. At the beginning of his 'Sonny's Blues' CD, I thought the first track of 'Drowning on Dry Land' was going to be the beginning of some old blues. But as the tracks played on, it got HOTTER & HOTTER. Moorman totally tore the heck out of 'Crossroads', and 'Rock Me Baby' well all I can say is that the fingers flew all over that guitar neck. Sonny Moorman is one outstanding musician-in a class of his own and would cause any heart and soul to have an serious meltdown.

'Sonny's Blues' CD was released by Atlas Records 2002 as they describe this superb cd in a Press Release, "a digitally re-mastered collection of the very best of Sonny's incendiary Electric Blues cuts called from his LIVE, Telegraph Road, By Request and By Request 2 CD's." This outstanding cd was mastered by Legend Sound and Sonny Moorman. Produced by Sonny Moorman.

'CC Rider' was down and dirty on the low side. And oh my what Sonny does with his low sexy raspy vocals and those leads that just makes you quiver all over. He certainly had my attention, I'm a sucker for raspy vocals.....

Lets not forget the rest of Sonny's bad blues team: Marc Hoffman/Danny Hymer/Bob Logsdon - bass.....Joe Clooney/Greg Day/Jim McNeely/Brian Sergi - drums. I applaud each and every musician for their contribution to this project. They certainly know their stuff.

There are not enough words to describe the feeling that a blues lover will get from this cd. It's 1 hr. 14 minutes of massive heart and soul tugging and wrenching, and lets not forget all the blasted chills that run up and down your spine and back again. How can one body stand so much? Easy, hang on tight, close your eyes and enjoy the ride....Make sure to visit the Sonny Moorman website at http://www.sonnymoorman.com/stuff.htm  for your own cd. AWESOME CD AND A MUST HAVE.
