CD Review   The Road Dawgs Fire on the Highway

The Road Dawgs - 'Fire on the Highway'
by Mary Rudy, http://www.muzikreviewz.com

The Road Dawgs and their 'Fire on the Highway' CD is definitely on fire. And the conclusion here after listening to their cd is that there is not one agency that is capable of putting out that fire. Professionally and excellent engineering and produced, instruments in place, vocals clear and also in place. Where one song ends the next song begins.

The Road Dawgs are rockers that strive to get that special-superb sound out there. Everyone of these musicians are quite capable of doing just that. The Rockin' Road Dawgs are: Eli - lead vocals/acoustic & lead guitar.....Mark Tucker - lead-rhythm-slide guitar.....Rick Mobley - drums/percussion and backup vocals.....Rick Martin - bass and backup vocals.

The tracks on this cd are exceptionally good. Every single tune deserves to be mentioned, you need to hear this cd for yourself, I will say though that 'I'm Mean Business' has strong musicianship and vocals comin at you with such force.....'Southern Breeze' is southern rock at its best.....'Good Times' is an excellent rocker.....'Fire on the Highway' is outstanding, Eli's vocals are super strong on this one.....'Wheels are turnin' is a HOT ROCKER and soooooooooo good!

There is one track that is not mentioned above that really needs to be elaborated on, and that track is 'Can't You See'. Even though this song is 8:22 minutes long, it is 8+ minutes of intense southern rock/blues that is driven hard with force into the listeners heart and soul, there is not one instrument or one vocal part out of place. This is the MOST POWERFUL cover song done and the Road Dawgs puts a whole new aspect on this song, makes it their own and in my opinion does it 200+ times better than the orginal. Every instrument has such a strong driving force behind it and the vocals match the instruments note for note. There is nothing like it.

This is the type of performance you get throughout this whole cd and that is the ONLY reason why you owe it to yourself to go out and purchase the 'Fire on the Highway' cd and you can get it at http://www.dawgrock.com
