Eric
Clapton Updates Program For Crossroads Festival
Eric Clapton has finalised the program for his Crossroads Guitar
Festival
and Clinic for Dallas June 4-6.
Artists hosting guitar clinics include Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne),
Jeff
Skunk' Baxter (Doobie Brothers), Laurence Juber (Wings), Nuno
Bettencourt
(Extreme), Sonny Curtis (Buddy Holly's Crickets) and James Burton
(Elvis
Presley).
As well as Eric Clapton, some of the acts scheduled to appear
include ZZ Top
JJ Cale, BB King, Joe Walsh, Tommy Shaw (Styx) and Carlos
Santana.

An all-star line-up has been announced for "LIFE'S A GAS - THE
ANNUAL JOEY RAMONE BIRTHDAY BASH" 2004 to take place Wednesday,
May 19th at Irving Plaza in NYC (doors open at 7:00PM). The
legendary lead singer of the "Hall Of Fame" Punk Rock band
The Ramones passed away from Lymphatic cancer in 2001. The
annual non-profit bash marks the fourth year that JOEY RAMONE's
mother and brother will celebrate the late singer's birthday by
inviting thousands of JOEY 's friends and fans to join them.

WILKESBORO, NC: The Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at MerleFest®
2004, presented in Wilkesboro by Wilkes Community College, has
announced the finalists for the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest,
according to Art Menius, MerleFest Partnership & National
Marketing Coordinator. A panel of Nashville music industry
professionals, assembled by Chris Austin Songwriting Contest
chairperson Jim Lauderdale, evaluated 889 recorded entries to pick
the dozen finalists. The Finals will take place at MerleFest 2004
on Friday, April 30, from 2:00 until 3:30 PM Eastern on the Austin
Stage.

WILKESBORO, NC: An extraordinary line-up greeted record
crowds to MerleFest 2004, the 17th annual festival in
celebration of the music of the late Merle Watson and his father Doc
Watson. Wilkes Community College presented the event on April 29
May 2 on its campus in Wilkesboro, NC. MerleFest again drew an enormous,
well behaved, and appreciative audience with a preliminary estimated
total participation including volunteers and school children of 82,500.
This exceeds MerleFest 2002's record 78,294 by more than 4000 and
surpasses last year’s 77,359 by 5.5%. Paid attendance
