Jeffrey Halford and the Healers:

CD - 'Hunkpapa'

Mary Rudy, http://www.muzikreviewz.com

Jeffrey Halford and the Healers demonstrates their number one expertise and musicianship with their tight band dynamics, excellent lead guitar playing, out of this world slide guitar that caught our attention really quick. The rhythm section is clear, out there and in the pocket. Superbly done. Organ and piano playing is exceptionally good.

This group caught my attention and kept it all through the ‘Hunkpapa’ CD. Anyone that loves the blues, maybe even some Cajun sounds with an edge will come to love this CD.

One can only imagine what kind of live performances that Jeffrey Halford and the Healers would give on stage. Being a blues lover, I truly appreciate the musicianship and talent that this group possesses and puts into their music.

Jeffrey Halford has the ole blues vocal sounds on this cd. I find this to be a true rarity now days. His vocal spectrum is on the high-low end, this gives him that bluesy edge whenever he may need it.

Every single song on the ‘Hunkpapa’ cd deserves to be a HOT PICKER, we will share some of the tracks that struck us as our favorites and they are: Track #1 – ‘Stone’s Throw’….. Track #4 – ‘Black Gold’….. Track #8 – ‘.44’….. Track #10 – ‘Crazy Horse’….. Track #12 – ‘Straight Razor’.

Jeffrey Halford and the Healers are: Jeffrey Halford – vocals, lead & slide guitars…..Thom Canova – bass, organ…..John Mader – drums, percussion…..Joe Thomas, Roy Taylor and James Swain – Backup Vocals…..Additional Musicians: Paul Oguin, Myron Dove – bass…..Vince Littleton, Trey Sabatelli – drums, percussion…..Chuck Prophet, J.L. Before closing this review, there is one song that stands ahead of the others for me, and that is ‘.44’, this song demonstrates Halfords vocal abilities to the max, the musicianship is so very professional and jumps from the cd to your heart and soul, this track is ever so much #1 billboard material in every way possible. Excellent work from all involved!

By all means get on over to Jeffrey Halford and the Healers Website at: http://www.jeffreyhalford.com  and pick up your own spin on this fantastic CD.
