FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Blackeyed Katy Releases First Studio Album
Nashville, TENNESSEE--Blackeyed Katy a dynamic new rock band hailing
from Southwest Georgia has just finished recording their first
CD "dealin'". The band recorded the
CD in Nashville at Eclectic Studios under the skilled engineering
hand of Nick Sparks and producer H.L. Voelker. The members of
Blackeyed Katy couldn't be happier for the opportunity. "We've
been playing music together for a number of years, so recording
tracks for our new CD was the next step, we couldn't wait to get
into that studio and rock," says Blackeyed Katy.
Blackeyed Katy is made up of four talented musicians and songwriters,
Jared Perkins- lyrics, lead vocals and rhythm guitar, David Lee-
lead guitar, Rory Hoke - bass guitar, and Trey Reed - drums.
The
new album "dealin'" is a compilation
of original songs written primarily by Jared Perkins. The music
on this work covers the entire spectrum of the Blackeyed Katy
sound. While all the songs on the CD originated from the acoustic
guitar work and awesome song writing of Jared Perkins, the added
layers of each song bring an identity to each song all its own.
From the diverse technical rhythms of Trey Reed on the drums,
to the offbeat, funky basslines of Rory Hoke, the rhythm section
holds nothing back on this effort. Reminiscent of the late Mickey
Houser, with a dash of David Gilmour, and a whole lot of Mike
McCready, David Lee brings a refreshingly original approach to
the lead guitar on this album, proving that he's definitely one
to look out for.
Blackeyed Katy currently resides in Valdosta, Georgia and can
be heard around the area playing at local venues such as Loozi
Annes and Charley O'Corley's. They have quite a local following
and will soon be scheduling a tour of the Southeast.
Charley O'Corleys in Remerton, GA will be hosting the CD release
party for the first studio album from Blackeyed Katy "dealin'"
on Saturday, July 30, 2005. This CD is sure to please music fans
of all ages and genres. For more information on Blackeyed Katy
