CD Review Model A Transmission Lost

Model A

The lead singer’s melancholic wail is the predominant force in these six darkly sensual songs. At times, Model A seems almost Radiohead esque, particularly on track four, We All Die Young. Track two, Chimera, gives the listener a different, grittier sound, featuring a heavier guitar paired with the evocative vocals, which are a constant throughout the album. The atmospheric songs on Transmission Lost sway between haunting and aggressive, always complemented by interesting lyrics and powerful vocals.

In Transmission Lost, Model A succeeds in defining their own sound and ambiance—a challenge that has taken many bands years to meet. Although sometimes reminiscent of Radiohead, Model A isn’t attempting to duplicate the band’s acclaimed sound, but have instead created their own original style, which will surely win them accolades in the future.
